| BridesMill was originally constructed as a Grist Mill by the Frame brothers in the early 1900's. It was given its current name by the new owners; to date, we don't know whether the mill ever had a proper name. After serving as a gristmill for some years, it was converted into a Sawmill, although the original grist milling equipment was retained; and it appears that the mill may have done double duty. It was later converted into a residence, although much of the equipment - including the turbine - remains. Currently only a few photos of the property are here - these pages will soon reflect as much of the Mill's history as we can dig up. |

BridesMill is named after Bridgit - your choice of the Celtic Goddess or the Saint ;-). Triple Goddess of the Forge and Hearth, Inspiration and Poetry, and Healing, Herbs and Midwifery - as a Saint, she is venerated as the patroness of smith craft, poetry, and healing (funny coincidence, that...).
